At Skylights NW, being green goes to the core of how we do business.
We use 99.9% blend bio-diesel (.o1% petrol diesel from crude oil, aka B99) in all company vehicles nine months out of the year and 50% bio-diesel (B50) when it is too cold to use B99 during the coldest winter months. We do this because bio-diesel is a renewable fuel and made in Oregon. It costs more than diesel from crude oil, but supporting a developing alternative to foreign oil dependence is worth it.
Our printed materials use chlorine-free, 100% post-consumer paper, that is Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Certified and made using green energy.
We recycle in all aspects of our business from the cardboard, plastic, and styrofoam that the skylights are shipped in to the metal from the old skylights to the paper we use in the office.
We use green power at our office and we properly dispose of all hazardous materials.
